My acquaintance with children with Down syndrome began through my brother MAZDAK (a boy with Down syndrome). As a starting point, he introduced me to a world of feelings and intimacy that I had never experienced before. With his pure feelings, he lit a wonderful spark of love for these special children in my heart. This was the start that led me to teach creativity to these amazing children. This experience is full of lessons that cannot be easily forgotten. They brought me into a world of creativity and honesty, where every piece I create is not only full of art, but also full of love and human connection.
“Every piece I create is not only full of art, but also full of love.”
We step out into the city—to cafés, parks, and the everyday rhythm of life. Together with a group of children with Down syndrome, we approach strangers and ask for a simple, beautiful gift: the chance to draw their faces. With their own unique styles and intuition, our young artists begin to capture the lines, the light, and the quiet soul of the person sitting before them. And then, something wonderful happens. A conversation unfolds. A stranger becomes a friend. Silence gives way to stories and laughter, and a simple portrait becomes a moment of genuine human connection. When the drawing is complete, the portrait is offered as a gift—a small keepsake of a meeting that neither person may have expected, but both can remember.
